Dirty Dozen

He is asking for your top 12 Favorite Movies of all time... Mine are not based on cinematic magic, or Oscars, or Academy Awards.. but on movies... that change me or touched me deeply... Having a child I have been to the movies, less and less as money is spent for him. I did spend many years going to the movies as a form of escape.. It is a passion I miss and love... but I read now.. and I love reading more than books... BUT I never give up a chance to see a movie...if I have time and money.
I will start with my number 12.

12.   The pianist  with Adrien Brody... Movies from this time period, really rip my heart apart, to loose you belongings... is so sad... and traumatic to me...
11. The Green Mile

  I was on a Tom Hanks kick when this movie came out, but the story really touched me... I felt like it was portrayed so well... and I remember it after all these years.

10. Heat with Val Kilmer...
Now let me explain this... I love a good bad guy/good guy movie... and I loved how ingenious I thought these violent law breakers were, but MY real love was Val Kilmer... I wanted to see every movie he was in...
9. Out of Africa

 I was living in a family's home as there Au Pair and they asked me if I wanted to watch this movie with them... I loved it... It was a photographic film that took you on a amazing journal. This was directed by the late Sidney Pollack. The movie was set in 1914 and it showed such beautiful landscapes... The score was a masterpiece I still listen to... It has Mozart and traditional African songs.
8. Remains of the Day
Not many people I know have even seen this movie... I loved it... maybe because it was a strange romance... maybe it was the old fashioned time period... Not sure why.. 

 7. Shaw Shank Redemption

  I could see this movie every day and still cry and still enjoy how it was made, and what it expressing... I love Morgan Freeman and I will be so sad when every he passes... He is such a voice and presence.

6. Legends of the Fall
    This is a movie I own... Don't watch it much because the content is long and very emotionally draining... but I love a good love triangle.. I love Anthony Hopkins... and the tragic love story always gets to me... It's a epic romance.. that you should not miss if you are interested in the West at all...Cowboy era....
5. Say Anything
  I always love this movie... a love story.. high-school...A father and a daughter, no mother and a hidden plot.. I love all the fun music... Loyd Loyd all null and void... looking for the truth your trying to avoid.

4. Breakfast Club

 I found out that my sister's best friend has never seen this movie and she is in her 30's.. It's a must see, I think.. but that is just my opinion.. I identified...so much with this movie... a group of my friends in high-school decided to start our own "club" and we were the dinner club. I have lots of pictures of us posing.. I wanted to scan a few, but my scanner is acting up. This was also the first time I saw sushi.

 3. A.I.  If anyone knows me they know I am not a huge Science Fiction watcher.. So why did I like this movie... I loved this kid actor.. and I fell in love with JUDE LAW--almost named my son JUDE.
The movie was directed by the late Stanley Kubrick and the Spielberg completed it... I own this and I still like watching it.
2. Gattica

  This was my first experience with Jude Law..and surly not my last.. This not counting ET was one of the only Sci-F movies I had seen at the time... It does not have aliens, or robots.. but it does try to show a glimpse of the future.. A place with biologically superior human specimens... It made you think about if you would do it ,, pick your own child free of disease and sickness. It was showing how the world could become controlled by your genes... IF you had bad eyes site or other things you would not be allowed to have certain jobs.  The movie has a lot of neutral colors but was very eye appealing. It had a bit of an aseptic nature... If you have not rented from netflix lately ... choose this unique Sci-Fi movie..
If you are a Sci-Fi fan and did NOT like it ---- Please tell me why...?
1. Tombstone

   I can't tell you how much I love this movie.. I like some Westerns... but not sure if that is my favorite time period.. but I loved all the lines Doc Holiday got to say in the movie and Val Kilmer was the best I have ever seen him in this movie... I also own this and watch it .... but I spoil the fun for most.....because I can do the entire movie ...verbatim..
