A lighthouse is anchored on a rock.... a blog can be like a lighthouse.. A lighthouse has one job and one job only... to shine light. I started this blog to find myself again... I started this blog to find other women who had children with special needs... in this blog I found... a love of photography... a new blog friend... many followers... and a voice... I had lost....I wanted to shine the light on my son's diagnosis of Neurofibromatosis...
Sometimes a lighthouse is there to attract attention... and I hope I have attracted some attention... attention to finding the positive in life.... attention to your needs as a women even if you are a mother... attention to shed light on new causes... cures.. for Neurofibromatosis...understanding of A.D.H.D...and much more...
A lighthouse is a guide....to help sailors find....safety... Maybe I have done this for a follower or friend...?
Being the person who built and operates the lighthouse...I feel I know where the rocks are and trouble is... and I can help to guide others around these things... but I am no expert.
I want to be that light in someone that I help steer them away from fear or loneliness . If I do my job... and help someone... Then I can rejoice!
If you were a captain of a boat... and you reached port safely due to the light of my "lighthouse"... you would never know the lighthouse keeper. I don't think they publish statements about how they saved a ship. The lighthouse keeper is usually alone... and silent about these things.
I cannot take responsibility for those who crash into the waves.. I may be saddened by this... but I can't rescue you....I just shine the light......
So I will continue this blog as this is my 400th post...I will stay in place... I will anchor myself on the rock of wisdom, wisdom I gained from reading other blogs, meeting other people and reading their life stories...and looking closer at my own...
" A fallen lighthouse is more dangerous than a reef." Navjot Singh Sidu
I don't pretend to be an expert on anything... and I know life can be a winding .... journey...
I hope you feel that we bloggers and readers can make it thru the sea... we can see the light.... and get to a dock... helping one another.. not judging one another...for our differences, faults or decisions....
The purpose of a lighthouse light is often varied...Sometimes it's a warning, sometimes it's a guide... sometimes it's for attention... you pick...
It's your view... from your window... only you know what you need from a lighthouse.. and how it could help you if you were the captain at sea....( and you are...)
The daymark is the unique shape, color and design of a lighthouse... that enables it to be correctly identified during the day. I hope you come visit often... and see me day or night...
Whether your view is better than mine.. in your eyes... or my view seems better to you than your view... It doesn't matter if you are in the watch room or the lantern room ...Just see the best of what you have....
Virginia Woolf wrote a book called... To the lighthouse... if you have not read it... give it a try

Don't forget to use and iron fist... when standing up for yourself.. don't loose yourself in the dark...
Don't leave the ocean... afraid you might crash... Remember me... the lighthouse... who is here to shine the light.
a freshnel lens or a prism... or a light... but what ever kind of light you are looking for .... I hope to be able to do my one job... as a lighthouse... and shine the light.
so if you are not a Pharologist... one who studies lighthouses... but you are one who wants to study life.. and looking to stay afloat in this ... life... as a mother, a women and a creative being.....than get back in that boat... and look for the lighthouse... if you are scared... or even afraid... of what lies ahead... Take the wheel... be your captain.. of your dreams... don't put yourself down....
I will be here.... ...anchored to the rock... ... waiting to guide you...

I am from a state of lighthouses, 61 of them! I loved this post; it was beautiful! I think we play different role at times. Sometimes we guide, lure other time we are just a safe beacon in a sea of chaos.
I am happy to know you and learn about you, every time I read your blog! Congrats on 400 posts!!!
You need to celebrate; I know being lost. I followed a sailor for year and feel it is my time, my turn for more. There is some resistance in my home, but I'm worth it and so are YOU! xXx
