This will also be my table scape for this Thursday.. (practicing for the August event)
Your invited to a virtual Moroccan themed dinner party... I have given a Moroccan themed baby shower to an old friend of mine in Sharon, CT, but I have never had a dinner party... SO you are the first... I will practice on you.. because this August I am having a real Moroccan dinner party... and the following are things that will be seen...
Let's set the mood...
The invitation:
The decor....
Here is my tablescape...I created this today.. My day off.. Lanterns by Pier 1
You must think about the menu...
I have decided on..**.Rosemary and sea salt flat bread when guest arrive
( by Donna Hay) recipe at the end of this post.
Lots of elephants.. to be found.. but no camels....
This is my first try... by August I hope to be a pro...
***Moroccan olives
**** Figs and Pomegranate
****chilled salads with carrots
*** lamb or chicken Tagine with pine nuts.. recipe from http://cafelynnylu.blogspot.com( I have ordered a Tagines to make this in.. and one to serve it in...) If you are not familiar with a Tagine look at these beauties... They are glazed earthenware vessels with a conical lid... some for serving and some for cooking in.
continuing with the menu I love Mint tea.. so I will be serving it..
cheers+ Saha wa' afib
must serve this refreshing drink in a jewel toned glass I ordered some
HERE
I will make Jasmine scented couscous
What about dessert...? I think Pineapple -Raspberry Brule... I can finally use my creme brulee burner..
.. be sure to have lots of glowing lanterns... and some of the party should be outdoors.. today virtual party is both.. my tablescape is indoors... but the real party will be under the tents...
Speaking of the outdoor tents... lets go visit there.. that's where the music is and the entertainment... Belly dancers.. and henna artists....
For more amazing tents... see www.rajtents.com I mean amazing...
Entertainment:
My Cd playing of Chalf Hassan ... what an atmosphere....
I will give away mint plants as favors... so you may go home and make your own mint tea.. and maybe even oils... in these bottles
So the night is almost over... But rub the lantern first...
The recipe as promised... Rosemary Sea Salt Flat bread by Donna Hay a few changes made by cafe lynnylu
Place 1 teaspoon active dry yeast and 2 1/2 cups warm water in a large bowl, let bubble for 5 minutes. Add 2 1/2 cups white-whole-wheat-flour to the water & yeast. Combine well. Let sit, covered for one hour. Add 2 teaspoons kosher or sea salt and 1 tablespoon olive oil to the flour mixture. Add another 2 1/2 cups plain all-purpose flour. Combine & knead for about 5 minutes. Allow to rise again, covered for about 2 hours. Divide the dough into 16 balls. Roll each ball in a bit of flour and then roll out into oblong shapes. Brush one side with a bit of olive oil, sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt and a pinch of rosemary leaves. Broil or grill each side about 1 minutes or until bubbly and golden. Serve warm!
Next stop Thailand

OMG! That was amazing!! Your table really captured the whole Moroccan feel with your red dining ware, purple napkins and the elephant centerpiece - and your jeweled glasses are absolutely breath taking. I know your dinner party is going to be a big success. This whole blog was one wonderful treat for the senses, thank you so much for all the work put into it! Now this is real blogging!!!

Great photos! Your table looks great already, but by August, I'm sure you'll think of some new additions. Love the roses and the pretty stemware, especially. And those lanterns are perfect!
