So we continued our fun .... trekking all around our area... looking for letterboxes.. My son was very interested today... This one took us to Carmel, NY to the Buddhist Monastery it is called Chuang Yen....
This was a gigantic Buddha in the big hall ... my son was not interested.. Outside we found our first clue and box... and right after that we found these..
IT was a large puddle on a lot of boulders... and there were tadpoles inside the puddle... Those black dots are the tadpoles.. we took 4 home....and set up there habitat today....
Next we followed the next clues... Here.....
along a bridge overlooking a jewel lake ... full of frogs... and TONS of snapping and painted turtles.. but they were sunning themselves on rocks and when they heard my son's feet they jumped right in and away... and I was unable to take their photo...We were still on the look out for box number 2.
We followed this gate... looking and looking...
We ate our lunch here, alone just us... no meat or meat products allowed on grounds...
We finished lunch found letterbox number 2 and started walking back to the car... when we spotted...
This chipmunk and my son loved talking to him and trying to entice him to come out..
He wants to go again tomorrow... We will see.....
