Here are a few I found...
I loved the pictures and I loved how she stays around at the end to amend what she broke... very nice moral..
This Goldilocks was a bit rude.. but still funny if you talk about her rudeness after reading....
This book by Diane Stanley had a fun change and I loved the drawings...
This one by far was for my son , he loved it and anyone who knows James Marshall knows that he can get kids laughing especially boys....
Most every book Jan Brett does is beautiful and this is no exception... I know Janna only likes me to list 5 books so I will stop there... but if you want more I have more... I also wrote my own version of Goldilocks below.. ENJOY
In a warm place in the South called St. Peters burgh Florida lived a little blonde haired girl named Lemon Lox. She lived with her sister named Oranelina and her parents.

Orangelina was a very sweet girl and did all her chores and helped her parents when ever she was not at school. Lemon Lox did not, she was in a sour mood... much of the time.
She would complain about things being to hard, soft, cold, hot, bumpy.. Nothing made her happy.
One afternoon on a Friday after school, Lemonlox's mother told her they were going to visit great grandmother grapefruit in the grove. Lemonlox said, "NO!!" I am staying here with the cat Marmalade... Lemonlox did not really like cats she wanted a dog. The Marmalade cat was her sisters cat. Her parents told her she was to young to stay alone. She piled into the wheel barrel and pouted.
At greatgrandmother Grapefruit's house they played Bocce and had fun.. but Lemonlox was not having any fun!

Lemon lox went down toward the end of the field to look at the water.. Maybe I will dip my feet she thought... She was complaining to herself when she thought she saw something pink run by her...
She ran out of sight of her parents, hoping to catch another glimpse of the pink legged creature.
Lemonlox got closer and realized it was a flamingo bird. The bird ran into a small house on the water. Lemonlox was about to peer inside the window when she heard the front door shut and out came.....3 flamingos...
They started back towards the water. Lemonlox was about to turn around to go home when way up high of the boat house she saw....Looking out of the window a small white poodle, just like the kind she had always dreamed of. The poodle looked so sad... she just had to open the door and give him a pet or let him out for a few minutes... Her mother had told her strange dogs bite, but this dog looked so sweet and sad. She tried the door and it opened.. there standing at the door was the white poodle. He was so friendly and smelled so sweet she wished she could take him home.. When she was done petting the poodle she got up and saw a huge table with different kinds of shrimp on the table... Shrimp coctail, shrimp scampi and raw shrimp.. That was odd.. Lemonlox had sampled shrimp before and did not want to take anything that was not hers so she left it alone.. but on the counter were tall glasses of a cold lemon colored drink, that Lemonlox had never seen.

She had wondered far from home and knew her way back but she was so thirsty... she thought just a few sips would be ok.. Before she knew it she had drank the entire contents of one of the tall glasses. It was so Delicious! What was this sweet drink. She sat down on a chair and picked up a large book... WOW it was too heavy.. She saw a magazine on the table but it had a kitchen on it... there was one more book with a cover of a blonde haired girl.. It said GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE BEARS... lemonlox loved to read and had never heard this story before.. she read it all and laughed and grinned the entire book.. she loved the mischievous girl. She was just about to go when ..she heard... sounds.. the flamingos were coming back... oh, no they would be very angry that she had come into there home uninvited...
They open the door and saw a girl standing in there home... The birds jumped- and said WHO are you? the girl explained she saw the sad white dog in the window and wanted to say HI. The birds looked disapprovingly at one another and set somethings on the table. She confessed to them that she had drank a glass of the delicious yellow liquid.. they told her it was LEMONADE. Lemonlox loved the name of it and said it softly to herself and let it roll off her tongue. She told them sorry, but thanked them kindly. She said she needed to start back on her way before dark, and that her parents would be angry with her.
The flamingo mom told her to take her parents one of the pies they got at the farmer's market... and told Lemonlox.. who could be angry with a pie given to them... Lemonlox.. was sure her parents would be cross pie or no pie... but she agreed. What kind of pie is it she asked the birds.. they all chimed in... LEMON MERINGUE. Lemonlox had never heard of this confection but started on her way.. thanking the birds once again.

When she got back to the orchard a dog was behind her.. it was the white poodle from the flamingo home... The dog had a note attached to it's collar.
You may keep this dog if your parents allow..He really wants to be around kids, not fish or birds... If your parents do not allow please send him back to us...Fondly,
The Flamingo Family
Just then her mother came around the corner, saying we have been calling you for summer for 15 minutes, you had us so scared... where were you...??? The girl said to herself 15 minutes I was gone so much longer than that....It's not right to lie to my parents .. but they will never believe me if I tell them I was talking with Flamingos... SO I told them about the farmers market and the pie I got for dessert and the dog I found.. alone and hungry...So we went inside the house and ate up our supper and for dessert we all got to try the strange looking pie. My mother said she had never seen a pie like this in her life, and my great grandmother grapefruit agreed. I told them it was called Lemon Meringue and they all looked even more confused...
When Lemonlox and her sister bit into their piece of pie they squealed with delight as did all the adults... The family was so happy because as the rest of the night unfolded... Lemonlox seemed different Sweeter and not so sour.. Her parents told her she could keep the little dog as long as she got along with her sisters marmalade cat. Lemonlox hugged her dog and said," I am going to call you Meringue.

Good for you for taking up the challenge from a simple experience with your son.
That's exciting that you already have some ideas of books to do.
Your knowledge of kidlit is soooo great! I keep thinking, how does she know all this stuff?!? But I love it.
